Lori Roxstrom - Activities Accounts Clerk

Being a new school, we wanted our ASB to be set-up with technology as current and up-to-date as the rest of our school. Using ActiveEducate's WebStore for all of our students and parents gives us a unique and technically savvy look and attitude.

We wanted to offer an online payment option to parents to minimize long lines during registration. It ends up being a huge convenience for not only students and parents, but for me as well.

We've really stepped up the messaging to parents this year about our WebStore. We listed all of the information on our school Web site homepage. The first thing that parents see when they go to our school Web site is "Don't Wait in Line" and we included a PDF download of the flier I created with our information. (See the images below of our ActiveEducate template compared to Lori's customized flier for her school.)

We sent home registration packets to all students that included the flyer that I created, and our principal sent out a list-serve, which is an automated phone call, to all of our parents prior to registration to remind them to use our WebStore for registration.

We are really looking forward to utilizing the WebStore throughout the year and making this the preferred method for credit card payments for parents and students at our school.

This is a flier template available to all WebStore customers from ActiveEducate:

This is Lori's customized version of the flier template, with her school's information:

Tips from Julie the WebStore Wizard

How many clicks does it take to get to your WebStore?

Julie Halladay

How easy is it for others to find your WebStore from the link on your school Web site? In order for students and parents to take advantage of paying online, they have to be able to easily access your WebStore. A simple way to assess how easy it is to locate your WebStore is to count the number of clicks it takes to get to it. Ask someone to visit your school Web site and play "visitor." Count the number of mouse-clicks it takes them to get from your school's Web site home page all the way to your WebStore. The fewer clicks the better.

An easy way to decrease the clicks required to get to the WebStore, is to place a clickable "button" graphic that links directly to your WebStore right on your school's home page. We make it easy with our Button Generator, which allows you to create your own button graphic that you can send to your Web site tech for placement on your school's homepage. Click here to use the Button Generator or ask your Web tech to add a link to the WebStore on the home page of the Web site so it shows up right alongside all of the other important links.
